  2.                                 "Fire All Your Guns at Once!"

  4. On-Line Competition
  5.  
  6. Do you know about the on-line competition?  It will be held
  7. concurrently with the 1992 Developers Competition in Durham, North
  8. Carolina.  It is the same format as the Durham competition but
  9. meets the needs of those who can't travel or spend the extra time
  10. and money involved in a trip to North Carolina.
  11.  
  12. Can you help to see that as many of your developers know about this
  13. opportunity to compete?  We would like you to put this announcement
  14. (or one like it) in one of your mailings to your users and
  15. developers.  In return, you can offer your developers a 25%
  16. discount toward the entry fee.  Sample "camera ready" copy is also
  17. included with this mailing.

  19. The concurrent developers competition will be held through
  20. CompuServe so that those who can't get to Durham can compete.  Here
  21. are the basics.

  23. - Same rules apply
  24.  
  25. - $300 Entry fee/team
  26.  
  27. - Specification will be mailed to you by CompuServe mail at approx.
  28. 8:00 your local time.  At 3:00 your local time, you will receive
  29. the queries for the reports.  By 5:00 you must have your reports,
  30. the system, and any software necessary to run your system in
  31. Federal Express for delivery Monday morning.  Question and Answers
  32. about the specification will be conducted on a CompuServe Forum.

  34. - A first pass based on the reporting results will yield the teams
  35. that continue for judging.

  37. - We will then schedule a time for a telephone conference for you
  38. to demonstrate the other judging criteria.

  40. - You will only compete against other on-line competitors.

  42. - Cash prizes will be awarded based on participation.  Products
  43. will be given to any team that submits an application for judging.
